Saints target looks set to leave Blackpool (From Daily Echo)

I'm getting quite sick of numerous stories about a player we're interested in and nothing much seems to be done but this is looking good. I believe the Ramirez deal will go ahead. Even Gaston himself said in an interview that Bologna and Saints still needed to sort the finer details of the move out. The Bologna President told Sky Sport 24: “The situation is much more complicated than he thinks. It’s not just about figures, but seeing what is included and what isn’t.” This seems to show that we are still in for him with the player very keen to join us. Bologna want another 4m or so in add-ons.

Buttner did exactly the same and look how that ended!

Hey Dan - I normally agree with most of your posts but this one's a bit harsh. MonteCristo has a very good point. With the possible exception of the Rodriguez transfer, all of the others have jumped the gun, either the player themselves or the media.

To be honest I would be very surprised if this does go through. NA has made the point many times that we have to get the right player for team culture, and I think bringing in a player on 3 times the wages of most others is bound to cause a bit of disharmony...

To be fair, Mayfly, Montecristosaint is usually anti-Saints or anti-NA/NC with his negative comments. I don't ever recall him (or her) make a positive comment on anything. If you read back over variuos threads, it's always whinge, moan and negativity from montecristo.

In this instance, he (or she) might have a point, but it's like the boy who cried wolf. Eventually people are going to get fed up and ignore!!

And Dan usually makes sensible positive posts.

All this BS about wage structures and team harmony spouted for two seasons and then we panic buy a merc who blatantly admits he is only interested in the money. He will be nothing but trouble. Save the money and buy two 6 million CB's and we might even stay up

Saints seem willing to pay 12 mill for what I perceive to be a luxury player yet wouldn't go the extra yard to sign jack butland on half the money that Ramirez wants. I know what I would have done!

My real beef is to do with some of the unreasonable (and sometimes nasty) condemnations that appear on this forum. If a Pompey fan decides to comment and you don't like it then ignore it. If a fellow Saints fan decides to comment and you don't like it then produce a structured response in preference to a cocky put-down.

The story going around town last night about Ramirez was that in his usual fashion NC asked that the deal would be kept under wraps until the deal was done, much like the Buttner deal, but Ramirez and his agent jumped the gun and NC has walked away, the Bologna president is furious that it has leaked and that the deal could be scuppered I said could as the negotiations had reached a very late stage it is only the instalments to iron out and the medical. So who knows?

I still believe Saints transfers would be concluded with more ease if the Echo would keep their idiotic thoughts quiet until a deal is completed. The Echo are in my opinion ANTI-SAINTS due to them annoying the club. Why don't they heed what NC and NA have said which is deals WILL ONLY be announced once they are done and dusted. The Echo trying to act like the SUN is damaging the clubs transfer deals and reputation so I urge Simpson, Carter and Leitch to GROW UP and do research before putting articles either online or in print.

The simple facts in my opinion are these

1. No deals will be conducted through the media unlike RVP to Man Utd or Allen to Liverpool

2. Transfers can only be considered finalised once ON THE OFFICIAL SITE

3. We are all concerned that as usual signings seem to take Saints much much longer than other clubs take. But I think in many ways that is a good sign as it ensures the deal is the right one.

It would be fantastic to see a response from the Echo regarding my thoughts that they deliberately print LIES just to try to sell more papers.

Rising_Son Please be assured In other posts I do blame the media on the whole for example Sky Sports are even worse at spreading blatant untrue stories concerning all clubs just to try to generate excitement. Why do responses have to be structured? Don't take these comments sections too seriously mate. Montecristo never has anything positive to say about NC or NA it is just constant negativity at every opportunity. I am not sure he is even serious about it, but he never misses the chance and if you ask me he deliberately provokes so often that you have to assume that he enjoys the negativity and the response he gets to it. Whatever floats his boat I suppose, but if he is going to constantly spout rubbish then he is going to get some stick at some point and deserve it too. I whole heartedly agree with you. I never believe ANYTHING until it's on the OS anymore. "They" delighted in our near extinction, I'm afraid that means I don't really take any of their transfer gossip seriously and yes. That does mean the media on a whole.

It's OK saying that about the OS but the new site format is rubbish!

To be honest I like to subscribe to the theory that we are all entitled to an opinion.
Montecristosaint,it appears, has a negative opinion of the general setup at SMS and has a beef with NC which he/she regularly expresses. Nothing wrong with that,if it was backed up with hard facts,which it generally isnt. Hence the derision from some.
Me ,I can only base my opnions on NC/NC on hard facts,two back to back promotions,even being mentioned in the same sentence as Ramirez,I find flattering,when you consider where we have come from in such a short space of time.
I guess the choice is yours,skip the neg comments or get wrapped up in them.
We all have posters we look out for,me its seed,slugger,bad bill strazzie,dan,st redford,puppy ,confucious alicedad ,hedge end bob,invidia ,red army etc,among others ,common denominator-positive posters. Please ignore laff (I always thought the word is laugh!!!!) a minute (is that a minute as in 60 seconds of time? or minute as in very miniscule and insignificant) and he will go away.

When you are out on a lovely sunny day having a couple of beers and a BBQ (or whatever takes your fancy), you will always find an annoying wasp that tries to get in your wine glass or on top of your burger. The more you flap and try and get rid of it, the more that wasp comes back.

Puncheon for me is the biggest surprise of the last 2 months - I really never expected to see him on the starting sheet at Maine Road. But is his head going to go down when he's dropped and will we wish we'd moved him on?
