Could be a big week for him, but it is long overdue for his England callup. He has been far better for a year or so now than a number of other midfield players who have been called up.

I hope we don't and I don't think we will. However, if we have to yoyo a couple of times before establishing ourselves I personally would be happy with that.

I've always enjoyed Saints players playing for England and well remember the time when we always had at least one or two in the team. I also remember when we had 5 England captains no less on the pitch at the same time - Shilton, Channon, Keegan, Mills, Ball and Watson.

I'm not being negative just pointing out there can sometimes be a downside to what at first looks like all good news.

Are you suggesting that other Prem teams wait for a player to get an England call-up before thinking about signing players?!

Do you think that other scouts don't watch matches unless there are England players in the games?

Adam will have been watched by 'big team' scouts for a couple of seasons and the fact that he's now got an England call-up just means that his price tag will have doubled, which can only be a good thing in terms of putting teams off!

The suggestion that 'big teams' only take note when a player gets an England call up is a little bit silly.

Sadly you will miss out on this little bit of fun because you are so narrow minded. To be fair. If I was a Saints fan - I would obviously be chuffed. Is he likely to play much though? I personally think Lampard's career needs to be curtailed as it was obvious from the last England championship that all the young players had all the drive and enthusiasm ie Young and Welback. England sadly always go on reputations - and the like of Rooney always seem to be first on the list even though he hasn't produced for England at a tournament since 2004. So yes - bring the youngsters through and see who takes their opportunity. Sadll England will never achiev anything at a tournament until they ditch 4-4-2 as they are so knackered by the QF stage after chasing the ball game after game. So Hodgson is just the wrong man for me. Counter attck is OK for one off games - but not for tournament football.

To be fair. If I was a Saints fan - I would obviously be chuffed. Is he likely to play much though? I personally think Lampard's career needs to be curtailed as it was obvious from the last England championship that all the young players had all the drive and enthusiasm ie Young and Welback. England sadly always go on reputations - and the like of Rooney always seem to be first on the list even though he hasn't produced for England at a tournament since 2004. So yes - bring the youngsters through and see who takes their opportunity. Sadll England will never achiev anything at a tournament until they ditch 4-4-2 as they are so knackered by the QF stage after chasing the ball game after game. So Hodgson is just the wrong man for me. Counter attck is OK for one off games - but not for tournament football.

The tactics and team that are paramount will be the one's chosen for the final tournament...England have a long winding road to climb and Lallana just might be a jigsaw piece in the puzzle (who knows). The thing is Billyboy - When England get there - they progressively tire as the tournament progresses. When was the last time they had energy at a tournament? I think it was 1998 personally

To be fair. If I was a Saints fan - I would obviously be chuffed. Is he likely to play much though? I personally think Lampard's career needs to be curtailed as it was obvious from the last England championship that all the young players had all the drive and enthusiasm ie Young and Welback. England sadly always go on reputations - and the like of Rooney always seem to be first on the list even though he hasn't produced for England at a tournament since 2004. So yes - bring the youngsters through and see who takes their opportunity. Sadll England will never achiev anything at a tournament until they ditch 4-4-2 as they are so knackered by the QF stage after chasing the ball game after game. So Hodgson is just the wrong man for me. Counter attck is OK for one off games - but not for tournament football.

England will qualify...I think even you and me will agree on that one. The tactics and team that are paramount will be the one's chosen for the final tournament...England have a long winding road to climb and Lallana just might be a jigsaw piece in the puzzle (who knows). Jeez...if a jock can win the US open...anything can happen!

The thing is Billyboy - When England get there - they progressively tire as the tournament progresses. When was the last time they had energy at a tournament? I think it was 1998 personally

I dont have a problem with rampant nationalism. To me its no different to rampant Saintism so Im proud to indulge in both. Wouldnt describe myself as a royalist but leaning more that way as I get older, I used to be quite anti but have come to realise the enormous amount of unseen work that goes on behind the scenes and the rest of the world regard it highly. The Queen has certainly earnt my respect. Giving up her entire life in service even at the age of nearly 90. I couldnt do it and so cant criticise.

Do you think 'Biology' by Girls Aloud would work?

Would you consider that as an atheist and a Republican you are living in the wrong Country or even the wrong Planet? It is your right to be that way, but for the moment it is a minority view and not likely to change in the near future. I am a God fearing, Royalist, Socialist, and firstly a Saint Supporter, a strange mix but it suits me fine.

Yeah, I know, move to Russia etc...

But I don't hold the views I do because I dislike my country; on the contrary, I hold them because I think the people of Britain are amazing and I want things to be better for them. We need to reject the whole stupid class system that still infects this country (look at the cabinet!) and start thinking that any of us, no matter the status of our birth, could run things better.

I dont have a problem with rampant nationalism. To me its no different to rampant Saintism so Im proud to indulge in both. Wouldnt describe myself as a royalist but leaning more that way as I get older, I used to be quite anti but have come to realise the enormous amount of unseen work that goes on behind the scenes and the rest of the world regard it highly. The Queen has certainly earnt my respect. Giving up her entire life in service even at the age of nearly 90. I couldnt do it and so cant criticise.
As for politics ,dont get me started!!!

Maybe we could have Oh When the Saints as the National Anthem???

I think I'm somewhere between you all; a sort of cross-bread - St Retsprey or St Halford, perhaps. A God-fearing, left-leaning, anti-royal, Ma-respecting, president-poopooing looney.

I'm in the UK at the mo (long story for another day) so I watched the Last Night of the Proms. Apart from the brilliance of the musicians and singers, what I like about it is that it allows people to be nobs whilst also being slobs. I like being an anti- royalist who is more anti-republican. I only have to think about Bush or Sarky to realise just how fantastic Mrs Elizabeth Windsor is. Also, while it would be great if it were true that anyone could become head of state, taking the US model and, to a lesser extent, the French one, we're kidding ourselves if we really believe a girl from Ryll has the same chance of getting the job as an ex-Etonian. So, I'd leave the Queen alone and have a revolution to attack the real power bases - industry, education and the old boys' network etc.

National Anthem? Yes, Land of H&G or, for the socialists, Jerusalem. But if it were up to me, I'd get Billy Bragg and Lilly Allen to write some new words to Yellow Submarine: 'we all live under a crass autocracy, a crass autocracy, a crass autocracy.....'

In fact, as an athiest and a republican it does somewhat tarnish my enjoyment of any sporting event when I hear God Save The Queen played (when you think about it, it's a request to a thing no rational being can believe exists to protect an institution I don't want saving). I do wish we could have a different song played at sporting events which doesn't alienate people who don't believe in a god but who do believe in democracy and which still offers something that fills them with pride to be British.

She doesn't have to be fat. Katherine Jenkins for president, anyone? She can turn up at the FA Cup final as head of state AND sing the national anthem, thus reducing the hospitality bill by at least one place.

In times of austerity we need to look at savings like this.

Just a thought, if, instead of a monarchy or democracy, a majority of the population were in favour of anarchy, how would we prove it? Surely, all true democrats need to know the answer before feeling confident that their supreme executive power had derived from a mandate from the masses.

No, thats not how it works, Charles will get the crown, he will abdicate, and the boy chopper pilot takes over. Simples, and not a republican in sight, and if there are then Harry can shoot them.

I think my view is similar to st1halo .. nothing wrong with rampant nationalism when we get more medals than everyone else, NOTHING WRONG WITH IT WHEN WE DON'T.

I also have massive respect for the Queen, no other country has anything to match the status she holds. The Americans wish they had a figurehead that matched her and the rest of the world just pales to insignificance when one considers the sheer brilliance of being British.

Sadly I just wish the rest of her family lived up to the Queens example. At the moment it looks like Harry and Wills are the next generation rescue squad slowly building up support and respect from the public and presenting a strong image. I know Harry is making it into the tabloids but he will be forgiven based on his war record and anyway he is exceptional because he is ginger (refer to the Tim Minchin song Prejudice for more on this subject). Wills and Kate are slowly becoming the natural successors to the Queen on the photo opportunity front if not the constituitional front. When the Queen eventually passes away there will be much outcry to skip a generation of heirs and just make Wills King straightaway. If only to prevent the whole country being declared a monstrous carbuncle and demolished by Charles to be reseeded with traditional English trees. Might be good for the Royal Watercolour Society but generally would present a problem with affordable housing for anyone other than squirrels.

Apart from that I have no view on the subject.

Be upstanding for the Queen and the Saints. Both are Premier League.
