SEAN Ervine is aiming to write his name into the Hampshire record books this weekend.

The all-rounder is bidding to become the first player to have helped Hampshire to FIVE one-day trophies.

Ervine is the only survivor from the Royals side that lifted the 2005 C & G Trophy with victory over this weekend’s CB40 final opponents Warwickshire.

He also played when Hampshire won the FP Trophy four years later, and was a key performer in their two t20 cup wins of 2010 and 2012.

Five men, other than Ervine, have been involved in four Hampshire one-day wins before.

Paul Terry, Robin Smith and Cardigan Connor played in all three Lord’s finals wins in 1988, 1991 and 1992.

They also appeared in the last of the county’s three John Player Sunday League title wins in 1986.

David Turner and Nigel Cowley, meanwhile, played in all three Sunday League wins in 1975, 1978 and 1986 as well as Hampshire’s 1988 B & H final win against Derbyshire at headquarters.
