OVERNIGHT leader Justin Rose improved to six under after the second round at the PGA Tour Championship .
The former North Hants member birdied the final hole to record a round of 68 to be one stroke off leader Jim Furyk who fired a six under 64.
While Rose and Furyk are heading the race for the $1.4m winners’ cheque, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, in seventh on three under, is in pole position to claim the FedEx Cup and its $10m (£7m) bonus after nearest rival Tiger Woods carded a disappointing 73 to finish on one under.
The second round gets under way this evening
