Fox in latest Scotland squad
11:25am Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in Sport
Danny Fox
Saints defender Danny Fox has been included in the Scotland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Belgium.
Craig Levein's side will face Wales, in Cardiff, on Friday, October 12, before travelling to Brussels to take on Belgium, on Tuesday, October 16.
Left-back Fox missed Scotland's opening two qualifiers - home draws against Serbia and Macedonia - with a groin strain.
In August, he received his first cap in almost three years, featuring in a 3-1 friendly win against Australia.
Scotland squad: Charlie Adam (Stoke City), Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Scott Brown (Celtic), Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), Steven Fletcher (Sunderland), James Forrest (Celtic), Danny Fox (Saints), Matt Gilks (Blackpool), Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers), Alan Hutton (Aston Villa), James McArthur (Wigan Athletic), Allan McGregor (Besiktas), Jamie Mackie (Queens Park Rangers), Shaun Maloney (Wigan Athletic), David Marshall (Cardiff City), Russell Martin (Norwich City), Kenny Miller (Vancouver Whitecaps), James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion), Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic), Steven Naismith (Everton), Matt Phillips (Blackpool), Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn Rovers), Robert Snodgrass (Norwich City), Andy Webster (Heart of Midlothian).

Would you call Messi a luxury player? No, you wouldn't. So given that Adam can play on both the left AND the right and that he makes Messi look sh1te, how can you possibly call Adam one?

Interesting that in all the discussion about Saturday's game nobody mentioned our goalkeeper. In yesterday's Liverpool Daily Post, he is the player who came in for most stick in their match report e.g.
"...the performance of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga underlined why the South Coast side have taken on former Everton target Artur Boruc."
"...the hapless Gazzaniga giving the striker (Jelavic) most of the goal to fire into."

The thing is we seem to mount attacks on our players one at a time and keep the pressure going until they are replaced. We've did it to Gully, then Kelvin, then Fox and now it seems that Fonte is next in line.
I remember last season so many saying we needed to do a Norwich and slowly add to the squad without major disruption. Well now everyone seems to be screaming for wholesale changes.
I've been following the Saints since the 70's and I'm delighted we are finally moving forward again. We are adding quality like Clyne and Ramirez and there are aspects of our play that are superb - but we are leaking like a sieve. If we have to bounce between the Championship and Prem a couple of times before we get it right, well so be it, I'm not panicking.

Anyway, the more important point is about Adam being a luxury. We all know he plays on the left and he plays on the right ........ Well, I think Nigel should stop trying to get him playing in two places at once; it's killing him. And it's not much help to either full-back.
So, please can the fans change the chant to, 'He plays on the left, OR he plays on the right .......'? Then, maybe, he really will start to make Messi look like Ali Dia.

Retford, you say that Noah only took his wife with him. Didn't he take his kids with him, too? Anyway, definitely no fish.
Anyway, good luck Fox, I'm sure you'll make Craig Bellamy look like Ali Dia.

All 4 home international teams play total rubbish these days and our players often come back unfit for selection so whats the point?
Any onwards and upwards after a tough opening 6 fixtures we expect some happier days and wins at home are absolutely crucial.

Seriously though, I think you'll end the season in about 16th but owned by Chainrai. Would you be happy with that? Even the United fans came round to the Glazers, so I reckon that despite all the current b1tching you lot will be wondering what all the fuss was about.
