John retains bass festival angling crown

John Chiverton romped to victory for the second year running at the Totland SAC annual bass festival.

He recorded a fish which tipped the scales down to 9lb 8oz to win the £150 top prize. It was weighed and verified at the Needles Tackle Shop.

Trevor Finnigan was runner-up with a bass weighing exactly 4lb, followed by John Newman with 2lb 2.5oz. Fourth and fifth – and also top junior – was Nick Pocock with bass weighing 2lb 2oz and 1lb 9oz.
