Shaw makes Eastleigh exit

Wayne Shaw
Eastleigh have parted company with goalkeeping coach/back-up ’keeper Wayne Shaw.
One of the biggest characters in the local non-League game, Shaw returned to the Silverlake Stadium in July from Blue Square Bet South rivals Sutton United.
But the popular 41-year-old does not fit in with the plans of new Spitfires boss Richard Hill, who last week signed former Brentford, Grays Athletic and Bromley keeper Lloyd Anderson as competition for first-choice No1 Jack Dovey.
Confirming Shaw’s contract had been cancelled by mutual consent, Eastleigh owner Stewart Donald said: “Wayne is a hugely popular figure who was brought back to the club by the previous manager (Ian Baird).
“Richard Hill has different ideas and plans and Wayne did not fit into these.
“I am sure we will see him back in the game soon and I wish him well for the future.”
Eastleigh return to Blue Square Bet South action tonight (7.45) at home to Staines Town.
