Competitors sampled some excellent action during the latest round of the Samalite League which was fished in near perfect conditions.
Mike Groves recorded the night’s heaviest fish in the shape of a 34lb 15oz conger.
Other species to figure during the match included bass, cod, dogfish, garfish, gurnard, pout, poor cod, plaice, pollack, scad, undulate rays, small-eyed-rays and whiting. Results: A zone, 1st Jeffery Fisk 29lb 12oz, 2nd Ant Buik 11lb 5.5oz, 3rd Danny Woodcock 10lb 9oz. B zone, 1st Mike Groves 38lb 2oz, 2nd Rob Marshall 12lb 14oz, 3rd James Lane 11lb 2oz.
