Chasing Tottonians, who sit in third in London 2 South-West, were victorious but lost a little ground on the leading two – their 20-3 home victory over rivals Trojans netting them four points.
Mike Searle looked to have opened the scoring for Totts on 14 minutes but the move was judged a forward pass. Cousin Robbie went some way to making amends moments later with a penalty.
Totts continued to mount multiple attacks and were awarded a penalty for hands in at the ruck. Steve Sexton tapped and went and was driven over by his pack to score on his debut, Robbie Searle converting for a 10-0 lead.
Totts turned around 13-3 ahead after Robbie Searle struck with another penalty and Trojans’ full-back Emilien Cabale slotted one home for his side.
There was a long delay in the second half as a Trojans player was stretchered off with an ankle injury.
The game was wrapped up five minutes from time when a clearance kick was fielded by Totts’ Sam Cranton.
He set up a ruck, Pete Belasco created another and Ben Dolbear fed Robbie Searle who found Nick Jones who out-paced the cover to touch down. Robbie Searle added the extras.
Trojans launched their best play of the game in the last five minutes but stout defence shut them out.
