Lennox Gill has made it through to the final of the prestigious NABC in the class B under 54kg division.

The Golden Ring boxer produced a stunning performance to defeat Welsh champion Mohammed Abdi in the semi-finals in Bristol.

Abdi is a massive 6ft at the weight and uses his reach well. He made it awkward for Gill in the first round as he used his height well until right at the end where the Southampton fighter managed to get under Abdi’s jab and land some solid shots.

Gill’s coach, father Stuart, told him to keep closer and up the work rate as he could see Abdi struggling to take his power.

Gill boxed superbly to instructions and dominated rounds two and three and came away with a unanimous win.

He will now box in the final against Jack Murphy from Ricky Hatton’s club in Manchester next Sunday afternoon, also in Bristol.
