Chris Tremlett is thinking only of England's first warm-up match rather than looking ahead to the first Ashes Test.
The paceman is vying for a starting spot with Steven Finn and Boyd Rankin and could get a chance to show what he can do against the Western Australian Chairman's XI on Thursday.
With previous form in Australia a good show could see Tremlett get the nod, but he is not getting carried away.
''I am working hard to try and get that final place. Each and every one of us is concentrating in the nets,'' he told reporters.
''I have experience from last time which helps, because I have bowled on these pitches and done well and maybe that is in my favour, but I am just taking each game as it comes.
''I am not thinking about the future and just focussing on playing well in the next game if I get the chance.''
Tremlett trained with England today, as did Kevin Pietersen who is back with the squad after being allowed to fly to South Africa for personal reasons.
''It's good to have him back and he's in good spirits. He's had a hit in the net and he's capable of taking a situation away from the opposition,'' Tremlett added.
