Teenager off-spinner Brad Taylor is among three promising Hampshire cricketers included in an England youth squad for the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh.

Taylor, who has made two LV= County Championship appearances for Hampshire in the past two seasons, is joined in the 18-man England party by leg spinner Mason Crane and opening batsman Joe Weatherley.

Tom Alsop, who broke into the Hampshire first team towards the end of the season and played in the promotion-clinching win over Glamorgan at Cardiff, is not included as he will be too old to play in Bangladesh.

Taylor, 17, played for England Under-19s this summer, helping them win the recent ODI Series against South Africa.

He bowled economically and took 3-42 as England wrapped up a 4-0 whitewash at Derby.

Both Crane and Weatherley played for England Under-17s, who were equally successful against Pakistan.

Crane, the Lancing College leg spinner, was Hampshire’s highest wicket taker with 20 victims in the Second XI County Championship this summer.

He played regularly for the Hampshire Academy side and finished the season on a high, winning the Man of the Match award after taking four wickets for ESCA in the annual match against the MCC Schools’ at Lord’s.

King Edward VI Deputy Head Boy Weatherley played in the home and away series against Sri Lanka this year, and was vice-captain of the England Under-17 team which beat Pakistan. He made over 300 runs in 2nd XI cricket this summer and almost 450 for the Academy in the Premier League.
