Former Hampshire overseas player Nathan Rimmington has continued his superb start to the 2014/15 Australian Sheffield Shield campaign.
The fast bowler, who celebrates his 32nd birthday today, started the season with a career best 5-38 haul in Western Australia’s win against Tasmania.
He bettered that in his second appearance, bagging 5-27 as Queensland were dismissed for 163 in their first innings.
Western Australia are top of the embyronic Shield table after going on to win by eight wickets, with Rimmington taking another wicket in the second innings.
Jason Behrendorff was voted man of the match, though, after taking 7-70 in Queensland’s second innings.
Rimmington – who played for Hampshire against Middlesex in last summer’s NatWest t20 Blast – had previously only bagged one five-wicket haul in 23 first class games prior to the new season.
