Michael Carberry was run out for five as Perth Scorchers recorded back-to-back Big Bash wins by inflicting a first defeat on Sydney Sixers.

After making a 35-ball 27 on debut, Carberry made a 15-ball 17 at number three in the Boxing Day win against Melbourne Renegades.

And after going in at number four against the Sixers, he was run out by Moises Henriques.

But Michael Lumb, Carberry's former Hampshire opening partner, was dismissed for eight as the Sixers were bowled out for just 99, ensuring a 36-run win for the Scorchers against a team that had started the tournament with three successive wins.

Yasir Arafat, who will be playing with Carberry for Hampshire in limited-overs competition in 2015, took 2-15 from 2.3 overs, including the wicket of captain Henriques, who hit his own stumps.

The Scorchers are now third in the table, two points behind table-topping Sixers with a game in hand.
