James Vince maintained his unbeaten record as captain of the England Lions one-day side, but not in the circumstances he would have wished.
Having made a flying start to the unofficial five-match series against South Africa A with victories in the first two games, the third match in Potchefstroom was abandoned after just eight balls because of heavy rain with the hosts 1-0.
The Hampshire batsman, who hit 99 in the 70-run in Kimberley earlier this week, now has two more chances to lead England to a series victory, starting at the Mamelodi Oval in Pretoria tomorrow.
