HAMPSHIRE should complete an emphatic Second Eleven Championship win against Glamorgan today – thanks to another Joe Weatherley century.

Weatherley continued his prolific form with 150 - his second ton in three days and his third of the month - as Hampshire made a colossal 467-7 declared from 120 overs on the Ageas Bowl’s Nursery Ground.

The 18 year-old faced 276 balls, struck 15 fours and shared an opening stand of 163 from 39 overs with Sean Terry (97) as Hampshire secured a lead of 315 after bowling Glamorgan out for 152 (65.3 overs).

There were also fifties for Lewis McManus (51) and Brad Taylor (54no).

Hampshire were also outstanding on day one.

James Tomlinson (14-4-26-3) and Brad Wheal (10-5-18-2) made early inroads before Weatherley took 3-20 from 16 overs with his improving off spin.

Brad Taylor (5.3-1-10-1) and Basil Akram (5-0-18-1) took the other wickets to fall while Devon’s Ryan Stevenson (11-2-28-0) continued his trial by bowling tidily.

Wheal delivered another outstanding opening spell (7-3-11-3) before Glamorgan closed on 47-4 after 16 overs of their second innings. They will begin the final day 268 runs behind Weatherley (1-0-1-1) continued to impress by taking his fourth wicket of the match with the last ball of the day.

After back-to-back wins against Surrey and Sussex and a draw against MCC Young Cricketers, Hampshire should complete their third win in four SEC games.
