SEAN Ervine is available for Hampshire’s seventh Natwest T20 Blast quarter-final in as many years.

The all-rounder proved his fitness on Wednesday, by hitting an unbeaten 100 from only 104 balls for the Ageas Bowl-based Elite International Cricket Academy against Hampshire’s 2nd XI.

Ervine struck 14 fours and four sixes as the EICA amassed 364-4 against an attack including James Tomlinson, before being included in a 15-man squad for tonight’s big game against Worcestershire at New Road (5.30pm).

The 32 year-old, who had been out for seven weeks with a broken finger, has been a key player in Hampshire’s limited-overs success over the last decade.

No other side has reached five Finals Days before but Hampshire are bidding to extend their record to six appearances at the biggest occasion in the county cricket calendar.

He believes his side is peaking at the right time after winning three of their last four group games .

Vince said: “To make the quarter-finals we needed to win our last two games so hopefully we can carry on that form and momentum.”

Today’s appalling forecast may mean the game goes into tomorrow’s reserve day.

Whatever happens, Hampshire will be determined to avenge their recent LV County Championship defeat at New Road and make sure of their place at Edgbaston on August 29.

“Getting to Finals Day is the first aim, but we know there are no certainties for Friday,” added Vince, who has been Hampshire’s man of the match in two of their five successive quarter-final wins - both away from home.

England's Moeen Ali has been included in Worcestershire’s squad - and Hampshire’s nemesis is also in the 14.

Worcestershire captain Daryl Mitchell will undergo a late fitness test just two weeks after injuring a hamstring.

He averages an astonishing 532 from his last four LV County Championship matches against Hampshire after his unbeaten 206 in last month’s thrashing at New Road.

Mitchell is alsoWorcestershire’s top scorer (392 runs at 32.6).

Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal, who took 8-100 against Hampshire last month, is the competition’s leading spinner with 21 wickets at 14 apiece.
