Chris Wood confirmed he broke his nose after Hampshire won a place at T20 Finals Day for the sixth successive season.

The Hampshire all-rounder took the big wicket of Moeen Ali and brilliantly ran out Tom Kohler-Cadmore before struggling to pick up the ball in fading light on the mid-wicket boundary.

Attempting to catch Ross Whiteley, Wood was struck in the face.

The incident persuaded umpires Tim Robinson and Rob Bailey to call off the match, with Worcestershire paying the price for their lack of floodlights.

It meant Hampshire won by 17 runs on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern, with Worcestershire 58-2 after 8.1 overs of their reply to the visitors' 196-4.

Hampshire will extend their record to six consecutive Finals Day appearances at Edgbaston on August 29.
