Sean Ervine conceded the most expensive figures of his T20 career as the Libra Legends ended the Masters Champions League with five defeats out of five in Sharjah.

Ervine’s four overs went for 58 runs as Hampshire teammate Fidel Edwards’ Leo Lions amassed 201-3.

Hampshire’s beneficiary only conceded two runs in his first over after taking the new ball.

But New Zealanders Scott Styris and James Franklin hit him for two sixes apiece, with three maximums coming in his final over, as his last two went for 44.

Batting at three, Ervine was bowled for five by off-spinner Mohammad Tauqir and Edwards (4-0-34-1) bowled former Hampshire star Simon Katich for an 18-ball 20 as the Legends were restricted to 190-6.

Edwards will face a Virgo Super Kings side including former Hampshire stars Neil McKenzie and Owais Shah in the semi-finals, which will be played in Dubai later this week.

Michael Carberry, who squeezed into the last four with the Sagittarius Strikers, is up against a Gemini Arabians side including Brett Lee and Azhar Mahmood on Thursday.
