FORMER Hampshire skipper Dominic Cork has returned to Derbyshire as a limited-overs consultant.

The former England seamer, who played for the county from 1990 to 2003 before enjoying spells with Lancashire and Hampshire, has been brought in to provide specialist support on a consultancy basis.

The 44-year-old will aid Derbyshire's players - including his 21-year-old son Greg - as they look to reach the quarter-finals of the NatWest T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup.

Cork appeared in 37 Tests and 32 one-day internationals for England, and Derbyshire cricket advisory director Kevin Dean said: "This is a crucial period for the club as we push for a quarter-final spot in both white-ball competitions over the next fortnight.

"Dominic is an experienced cricketer who knows how to win, claiming silverware with both Derbyshire and Hampshire during his playing career.

"He will provide specialist support to the team, as and when it is required, during what is a busy few weeks of cricket."

Cork joined Hampshire in 2009 and, in his first season, won the man of the match award in the Friends Provident Trophy final win against Sussex at Lord's. Twelve months later, he helped the county win the T20 Cup for the first time.

Cork's last game for Hampshire was in the 2011 season.
