Tom Alsop played his part in a win against the United Arab Emirates on his England Lions debut in Dubai.
The left-hander, who turned 21 last week, made 24 as the UAE lost the opening match of the 50-over series by eight wickets.
He shared a second wicket stand of 59 with captain Keaton Jennings, who celebrated his call-up to England's Test squad with a century.
Kent's Daniel Bell-Drummond made 40 before the Lions won with 16 overs to spare.
The Lions have two more 50-over games against the UAE, coached by former England batsman Owais Shah, at the Dubai Stadium before an historic first-class four-day match against Afghanistan which starts in Abu Dhabi next Wednesday.
