Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson is in all three England squads after being included in the limited-overs parties for next month’s series against India.

The 26 year-old is one of an elite group of players - including Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler - in England’s squads for all three formats.

Dawson has joined England’s Test squad in India, in place of the injured Zafar Ansari, ahead of the Thursday’s fourth Test in Mumbai.

And after making his ODI and T20 debuts last season, having been included in England’s World T20 squad in February, Dawson’s inclusion was expected.

But there is no place for his Hampshire teammate James Vince in either party.

Dawson impressed on his full England debut at The Ageas Bowl last July, when he took 3-27 in a T20 win against Sri Lanka.

He took 2-70 on his ODI debut against Pakistan in Cardiff in September and has been playing for the Rangpur Riders at the Bangladesh Premier League recently.

Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan’s return to lead England’s limited-overs teams, alongside record-breaking opener Alex Hales, was rubber-stamped.

Coach Trevor Bayliss spelled out that a protracted absence for either “wasn’t even discussed” as England stayed true to their word of ‘no recriminations’ for Morgan and Hales’ decision to opt out of the last tour of Bangladesh because of security concerns.

The squads were also notable for the inclusion of Bairstow ahead of Ben Duckett.

Northamptonshire batsman Duckett made two half-centuries in three white-ball innings against Bangladesh but has since struggled in Tests there and in India.
