RILEE Rossouw continued to bat through finger pain in becoming Hampshire’s highest-scoring one-day debutant.

Rossouw revealed that the fracture that has kept him out for the last three weeks was still giving him jip during his 156 against Somerset at Taunton.

The 27 year-old, who made 99 against Middlesex with the left digit fractured last month, revealed: “It felt like all hell broke loose with a few shots I didn’t quite middle.

"The finger’s still in a fragile state but hopefully I can manage it.”

Rossouw’s heroics powered Hampshire to a second successive Royal London One-Day Cup win, which was secured by successive sixes by Lewis Mcmanus against the slow left-arm of Roelof van der Merwe.

It has put them back on course for quarter-final qualification after last week’s back-to-back defeats.

The top four in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. Hampshire remain fourth in the south division, but are now two points behind leaders Somerset with three games left.

Next is tomorrow’s game against Glamorgan at The Ageas Bowl (11am).

“The job is not done, we still need a couple more wins to qualify, but we are going in the right direction,” continued Rossouw.

“If we do what we did against Somerset I don’t think anyone will stop us.”

Rossouw’s 156 is the highest List A score by a Hampshire batsman since Sean Ervine’s 167 at home to Ireland in 2009.

Hampshire have made one addition to their squad for tomorrow's game against Glamorgan, with Ian Holland included in a party of 14 following his heroics for the 2nd XI this week.

Hampshire need to win their last three games to have a chance of a home quarter-final but two wins should be enough to qualify for the last eight.

Glamorgan are all but out of the competition after two wins and four defeats.

But they have its Most Valuable Player in Colin Ingram (335 runs at 55.83 and seven wickets at 29.14).
