Balcombe voted player of the month

David Balcombe has been voted Hampshire Cricket’s Fans’ Player of the Month supported by Carling for April and May.

The bowler achieved 55 per cent of the overall public vote having taken eight wickets in an innings against Gloucestershire (a record return at The Ageas Bowl) and 11-119 in the match – a personal Career Best return.

He also took another five-wicket haul in the Championship match away to Glamorgan – form which currently sees him leading the Division Two wicket-taking tables – and registered his Career-Best Championship batting score (39) against the same team in the reverse fixture.

Balcombe received the engraved crystal trophy from Hampshire fan, and FPotM voter, Roy Honeybone at The Ageas Bowl yesterday. Full report in tomorrow's Daily Echo
