Kevin Pietersen was booed off after he was out first ball to Liam Dawson for the second time this season.
The former Hampshire batsman played the role of pantomime villain in his first innings since being dropped by England.
And his struggle against slow left-armers resurfaced against Dawson, who also dismissed him for a diamond duck in Hampshire's t20 win at The Oval last month.
Having received a mixed reception as he strode to the middle, Pietersen was bowled by a beauty, and was roundly booed as he made his way back to the dressing room.
Hampshire stayed on course for the Clydesdale Bank 40 semi finals by beating Surrey by four wickets.
