FORMER Hampshire skipper Shane Warne has done little to stamp out talk of a stunning Australian Test comeback.

He yesterday declared “anything is possible” as long as he feels he is bowling well enough.

The leg-spin great has been criticised for his poor start to the Melbourne Stars' Big Bash campaign on Friday night when he finished with 0-41 from two overs and also dropped a catch.

Yet speculation about a return to the Test arena refuses to go away.

Australian captain Michael Clarke said he would love Warne – who captained him during his one summer at Hampshire in 2004 – to come out of retirement.

Warne said yesterday talk of a Test comeback was still “hypothetical”, but did not completely rule out the idea.

“At the moment, I have never said that I am coming out of retirement or anything like that,” said the 43-year-old.

“I was asked if I could and I have no doubt I could.
