FORMER Saints stars Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had contrasting evenings as England rattled up another five World Cup Qualifying points last night.
The game was just a few minutes old when Aldo Simoncini’s airborne challenge sent Walcott cartwheeling and the Arsenal player was forced to limp off.
On the touchline, England boss Roy Hodgson was furious. He was still seething when it was confirmed Walcott's evening was over and Aaron Lennon was sent on in his place.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made his own little bit of history 14 minutes from time, however, becoming England’s fourth youngest goalscorer.
He tucked himself in behind Tommy Lawton, Michael Owen, and England’s youngest ever goalscorer Wayne Rooney, when he scored the side’s fifth goal.
