Defending champions South Wilts hit the ECB Club t20 Cup trail on Sunday – but retaining the Southern Electric Premier League title remains top priority.

South Wilts make the long trek to Beckenham in North Kent to play national t20 champions Wimbledon on Sunday.

But before they pit their strengths against the Ryman Surrey Championship giants, South Wilts have an important Premier Division clash against Lymington at Bemerton tomorrow, 1pm.

“Everyone is looking forward to Sunday. It will be a great experience for the club, especially playing last year’s t20 winners,” said skipper James Hayward.

“We’ll have to play out of our skins, but it only needs one player to come off in the short format game and we’re capable of producing a surprise.

“We mustn’t forget the Premier League is our bread and butter and there’s a second championship to be won.”

South Wilts are without Jack Mynott (on Academy duty) against a Lymington side who have won their last two games.

Teenage all-rounder Ryan Burl makes his farewell appearance before returning to Zimbabwe for Under-19 Cricket World Cup training.

Burl has scored 406 runs and taken 20 wickets for South Wilts, and will be a key absentee in the closing weeks of the season.

South Wilts: Hayward, Morton, Riddle, Burl, Cowley, Hibberd, Cranch, Alsop, Frankli, Sheppard, Warner.

Lymington: Scott Henry, Ali Jaffer, Glyn Treagus, Darren Cowley, Cameron Grieson, Felix Ambrose, Matt Metcalfe, Simon Beetham, Ed Ellis, David Kidner, Ed Freeman.?

Second-placed Ventnor have their eyes fixed on a notable double when they visit six-times champions Havant.

They won the Time pennant match by seven wickets after bowling Havant out for 143 at Newclose in late June.

Ventnor need to mantain the winning momentum to stay in touch with South Wilts at the top.

They are without Academy bound Jake George at Havant, but his absence is balanced by Richard Hindley missing from the host club.

Ventnor: Mills, Eysele, Head, Hilsum, Westhorpe, Cheek, Ridley, Miller, Snell, Wilson, Holmes.

Ventnor’s Jake George and South Wilts batsman Jack Mynott are withdrawn from club action to play for the Hampshire Academy against Alton at the Jubilee Ground, 1pm.

They fill holes left by Lewis McManus and Tom Barber who are on England Under-19 duty in the tri-series against Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Academy: Green, George, Mynott, Porter, Scott, Webb, King, Bass, Taylor, Crane, Covers.
