Calmore Sports Club has signed Australian batsman Josh Holden as their overseas player for 2014.
The 22-year-old left-hander plays for Casey South Melbourne Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier Cricket League, where he has opened with Nottinghamshire all-rounder Steven Mullaney recently.
He comes to the club highly recommended by current first-team opening batsman and left-arm spin bowler Mark Lavelle, who has travelled to Melbourne to play for the club this season alongside former Calmore overseas star Michael Wallace. Holden said: "I am looking forward to coming across to England and playing for the club in 2014. The club has had great reviews for both on and off the field from Lav and Wally.
"It is a great opportunity to develop my game further, as well as enjoy time overseas, and I cannot wait to get started!"
