Totton & Eling’s Augustus brothers have written themselves into cricket annals by becoming the first siblings to each take five wickets in the same innings of an ECB Southern Electric Premier League match.

The pair, who both bowl medium-pace, shared all ten wickets as Totton bowled the Hampshire Academy out for 186 in a subsequently rain abandoned Premier Division match at Southern Gardens.

Elder brother Darron, who bowled Academy captain Joe Weatherley with the second ball of the match, took 5-74, while Dylan returned an SPL best 5-46, including Tom Alsop (41) and Matt Stokes (26).

They came in at lunch sharing six of the Academy wickets to fall for 92.

Luke Evans (24), Miles Covers (36) and Tom Barber (18) led the recovery as the Hampshire youngsters reached 186 all out.

It didn’t go quite so well with the bat later as Darron was caught behind off Tom Barber for five.

In the end, though, it was all academic as a cloudburst washed out play with Totton’s reply standing at 38-2, 33 of which had been scored by opener Tom Arnold.
