George Ayling smashed a whirlwind century off only 44 balls as Southern Electric Premier League Division 2 newcomers Tichborne Park sped to an eight-wicket win over Hambledon in just 18.1overs.
The 19-year-old flayed the Hambledon bowling in all directions, smashing five sixes and 14 fours in one of the fastest SPL hundreds on record.
He made 103 and dominated a second-wicket stand of 125 with Martyn Cheyney (38 not out) as TP raced past Hambledon’s 157.
Left-hand opener Jack Lavous (64) held the Dons innings together as the Allam brothers Tom (4-25) and Will (3-33) combined with Queenslander Justin Reid (2-29) to roll the visitors over.
