HAMPSHIRE t20 ace Glenn Maxwell bids a premature farewell to ECB Southern Electric Premier League cricket when he makes his final South Wilts’ appearance against Totton & Eling at the Linden Oval tomorrow, 11.30.
Maxwell, who has helped Hampshire into the Friends Life t20 finals at Cardiff next month, returns to Melbourne next week to link up with Australia’s t20 squad for the upcoming series of matches in the UAE.
And Maxwell, arguably more effective with the ball in SPL cricket than with his ‘masterblaster’ style batting, is eager to go out in style.
“Maxi’s determined to show what he can do with the bat and hasn’t got a fifty for us yet,” South Wilts skipper James Hayward said.
“He knows the Linden Oval boundary is pretty short and has targeted Sam Walker, Totton’s offspinner.”
