Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer League Under 10s - Green - Match reports
Michelmersh cruise past Hillcrest
5:34pm Sun 16 Sep 07
Michelmersh & Timsbury 5 - 0 Hillcrest White
After a tight opening couple of minutes, the deadlock was broken by Oliver Lambert whose well struck shot from the edge of the area flew in past the stranded 'keeper. Rozzer Saunders, covering in goal for the injured 'Cat' came quickly off his line to prevent an equaliser before The Tigers started to take hold of the game. James Brand fought well to get the ball on the right hand side of midfield and struck an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Ollie Long started the second half brightly and took the ball the length of the pitch, before his cross was bundled in by an unfortunate Hillcrest defender. Ed Barnes was next on the scoresheet, sliding into the area and slotting a pinpoint cross into the goal. Man of the match, Adam Cater, then went on a good run into the box where his shot was deflected into the path of James Brand who controlled well and slotted home for his brace.
Michelmersh edge past Stags
5:31pm Sun 16 Sep 07
Michelmersh & Timsbury 2 - 1 New Forest Stags
Despite having the majority of possession in this game, M&T nearly payed dearly for not converting their chances. They started well and went one up, after Thomas Farr turned in the area and shot under the goalkeeper. Harry Field and Chris Hinton kept the defensive line well and prevented any real threat on goal. In the second half M&T's dominance continued, this time Oliver Lambert was on the end of a cross to double the lead. However concentration seemed to waiver as the game went on, The Stags broke well and got a lucky rebound into the net from a clearance. Jackson Howell pushed up to try and take the game to New Forest, and Callum Greenaway had some good shots saved, but to no avail as The Tigers squandered a number of chances.
