Winchester Eagles secure Green League title

It was a great weekend for Winchester Eagles as they reached the finals of the Jim Pearson Cup on Saturday and won the Green League title on Sunday as a result of back to back wins over Southside. The Eagles were made to fight all the way by a spirited Southside team who held on to the final seconds before succombing to a last minute Harry Bayles strike in their first match. The second match was also a tight affair with the Eagles eventually running out 2-0 victors.

This weeks Green League matches will now be played at Fleming Park on pitches 1 and 2 as Sarisbury Sparks ground is waterlogged.
Southside keep hopes alive

Southside picked up maximum points this weekend to keep up the pressure for runners up spot in the Green League. Both victories were narrow ones as they first overcame Oakwood Tigers 2-1 and ended with a 2-0 victory over Pace Panthers.

Eastleigh Rangers leapfrog to second spot

Eastleigh Rangers back-to-back wins over Oakwood Tigers enabled them to leapfrog to second spot and vastly improve their goal difference as they ran out 5-0 and 6-0 winners. Matt Shepherd scoring four in their later victory.

Winchester extend gap on chasing pack

Winchester Eagles moved to with in three points of the Green League title this week as they overcame nearest pursuers Academicals 1-0 before running riot against Botley Village Red 16-0, Harry Bayles top scoring with eight. Academicals did go on to record a 3-0 win over S & D who themselves also enjoyed a 3-0 win over Botley.
