Winchester Eagles stay on course
The Green League teams were full of praise for the facilities and hospitality at Sarisbury Sparks ground this week as they completed a full set of fixtures this week.
Winchester Eagles took another small step towards the title as they overcame highly placed Weston Sports 3-0 thanks to a Harry Bayles brace. Weston did recover to take the points off of Pace Panthers in a 4-1 win but it did not stop them slipping down the League as the pace hots up for runners up honours.
Eastleigh Rangers moved into second spot courtesy of a 4-1 win over Totton Rangers Blue and a 2-2 draw with Southside. Hot on their heels are Academicals who beat Hamble 3-0 and Hedge End Eagles 4-2, Jack Coster and Kane Buckley scoring two apiece against the Eagles.
Southside kept in the hunt, with a 2-1 win over Oakwood Tigers.
Five man Hedge End Eagles scored and impressive 8-0 win over Botley Village Red with all of their outfield players scoring two apiece, namely Hayden Foster, Luke Mockford, Joseph Reeves and Bleu Jones.
Following their earlier defeats, Totton and Oakwood settled for a point apiece in a 3-3 draw which saw Nick Lo on target twice for Totton and Matthew Pimley doing likewise for Oakwood.
Warsash Wasps Green drew a blank as they went down 4-1 to Pace Panthers and then 1-0 to S & D. Hamble sent Botley down the river as they edged past them in a 1-0 win.
