Tight at the top
With the exception of runaway leaders Winchester Eagles, there is still all to play for at the top of the Green League, as the five pursuing teams mass for the final push.
Academicals move into second spot thanks to a 4-0 win over Botley Village Red and a 3-0 win over Totton Rangers Blue, Jack Coster scoring two in the win over Botley. It was also maximum points for Southside as they overcame S & D 2-0 and Hamble United Reds 5-0, where Matthew Bartlett scored twice.
Weston Sports started the day in an explosive manner knocking in ten without reply against Pace Panthers, Kyle Hickman, Jack Wilson and Jack Rooke all helping themselves to hat-tricks. It was a different story against Eastleigh Rangers where honours finished even in a hard fought 2-2 draw. Eastleigh had earlier also made Winchester Eagles fight all the way before Harry Bayles eventually secured the points for the Eagles.
It was a tough day for Pace who saw another six go past them as they lost out 6-1 to Winchester. It was mixed fortunes however for Oakwood Tigers And Totton Rangers Blue. The Tigers put five without reply past Botley where Sean Wilson scored three and Matthew Pimley two. They then went down to Totton 4-1 for whom Connor Jones scored twice.
Warsash Wasps Green had their best haul of the season picking up three points thanks to a goal-less draw with S & D and and 1-0 win over Hamble who fell to a Jack Wilkins strike.
