Alresford and Littleton on song
It was a good day for our teams on the northern fringes this week, as both Littleton Lions and Alresford Town closed down on the leaders with maximum points each. Alresford's Jimmy Hawkings grabbed a brace in each of their wins over Winsor and Sarisbury, Francesca Thornton also weighing in with a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Winsor. Sarisbury picked up their fist win of the season, defeating Bitterne Terriers Blue 1-0. Bitterne also went home happy as a Charlie Gordon hat-trick secured them two points over Winsor.
Littleton Lions were the second side to upset Colden Common's applecart in a week when they outfought the Commoners to record a 3-1 victory. The Lions had previously warmed up with a 7-0 beating of Botley Village Green, Tom Steggall grabbing three and Ron Smith two for the Lions. Colden Common did get some compensation with a 3-0 win over the strong Michelmersh & Timsbury who went on themselves to hammer Botley by nine without reply, Tom Lane netting four and Ben Bradwell two.
Hythe Strikers were also on the end of two heavy defeats, Whiteley started the damage, scoring eight without reply thanks to a Sam Fisher hat-trick and two apiece from Ed Ditchburn and Nick Bold, Townhill Emperors compounded the pain with a dozen more, Clayd Roach scoring five, Josh Gooderham three and two more each from Alex Nash and Charlie Snelling.
