Botley give tabletoppers Pace a scare
Botley Village Green, who sit at the foot of the Red League gave league leaders Pace Pumas one almighty scare as they raced into a 1-0 interval lead thanks to a Wyatt Brennan strike. Stong words from manager Shawn Kitcher at half time however galvanised the Pumas into action and Ryan Chester responded with a second half brace to give the Pumas a narrow victory over the brave Botley battlers. The second match between the two teams saw Pace return to form with a 7-0 win, Adam Pattison and Callum Hine weighing in with two apiece.
In the other back to back game in this division, Michelmersh & Timsbury managed to score five in both matches against Winsor. Ben Bradwell and Tom Lane netting two apiece in the first encounter and Jordon Colman putting away a hat-trick in the second match where Winsor showed some improvement to go down 5-2.
Lowly Bitterne Terriers Blue also showed battling qualities in going down to a last gasp Sam Fisher goal for the strong Whiteley Juniors.
Their exertions however told in their second game,as they leaked eight without reply to Littleton Lions, Tom Steggall scoring three and Austin Gwilliam two for the Lions.
Alresford Town A started the New Year well drawing with Littleton and then overcoming Whiteley 2-0.
Colden Common A got back to something like their best form with a 6-3 victory over Townhill Emperors and a 4-1 defeat of Sarisbury Sparks, Jason Probert scoring hat-tricks in both games.
