Pace sink Common but girls steal the show

Pace Pumas took a massive step towards the Red League title this week when two goal Ryan Chester enabled them to overcome nearest rivals Colden Common A 2-0, to bring them within five points of the silverware. Alresford Town A also put another nail in the Common coffin, beating them by a 5-1 margin, Francesca Thornton grabbing a brace. Francesca also netted a hat-trick in the 9-0 beating of Hythe Strikers, Jimmy Hawkings also weighing in with a hat-trick.

Pace completed a good day by also beating the Strikers, Ryan Chester scoring three times in the 8-2 win.

Michelmarsh & Timsbury had to settle for two points on the day as they were held to draws by both Whiteley and Townhill Emperors.

Winsor faired less well against the same opponents, conceding four without reply to Whiteley and eleven without reply to Townhill, for whom Charlie Snelling completed a good day for the girls with four goals.

Botley Village Green moved off the bottom of the table thanks to a battling 2-2 draw with Bitterne Terriers Red, Wyatt Brennan grabbing both goals for Botley. Sarisbury Sparks had a Lewis Wild hat-trick to thank for their earlier 6-0 win over Botley.
