Devils and Tiger Cubs give leaders a scare
Wyvern Devils made leaders Hythe Jets fight all the way before a solitary Jordon Smith strike sealed the victory for the Jets. The effort lifted the spirits of the Devils who then went on to a 3-0 over the useful Winchester Hawks. The Hawks did not go home empty handed however thanks to a 4-1 win over Pace Cougars, who also picked up a rare victory with a 1-0 win over St Francis Rovers.
Fawley Falcons found Hedge End Tiger Cubs a difficult nut to crack in the first leg of their back-to-back encounter, eventually having to share the points in the 1-1 draw, The nut did crack in spectacular fashion in the second match as Fawley banged in seven without reply, Elliot Netherwood with four and Lewis Donnelly three, doing the nutcracking.
Ice maintained third spot with thrilling 5-4 win over Testwood Lancers followed by a goal-less draw with a stubborn Warsash Wasps Blue. Liam Hodder was on the mark three times in the encounter with the Lancers. The Lancers did manage to secure a point in a 2-2 draw with Oakwood Cobras, who had started on a high with a 3-1 win over Warsash.
Alresford Town B who have been on the wrong end of some batterings put in their best performance of the season in holding BA Juniors to just three goals, BA picked up maximum points for the day also beating St Francis Rovers 5-0, Declan Jones grabbing three for BA in the win.
