Jets soar to Yellow League title
Hythe Jets finally secured the Yellow League title this week, but not without having to be made to fight all the way to overlome lowly St Francis Rovers by one goal to nil. They then celebrated by beating Testwood Lancers convincingly 5-0, Matthew Jones on target twice for the Jets.
BA Juniors dealt Fawley Falcons a blow in their quest for top honours by beating them 3-0, with all goals coming from Alex Talbot. BA also took the bite out of Hedge End Tiger Cubs, knocking them for six as Sam Pearce and Marshal Burgoyne each grabbed a brace in the 6-1 victory. The Falcons had earlier disposed of five man Alresford Town B 5-0 with Matthew Avery helping himself to a hat-trick. The Tiger Cubs also took advantage of the weakened Alresford, scoring six without reply. Bradley Russell and Kieron Dilworth each notch two in this victory.
Ice Sports have emerged as the main threat to the Falcons for runners up honours as they picked up maximum points, beating Testwood Lancers 2-0 and St Francis Rovers 5-1, Liam Hodder scoring twice in the second game.
Winchester Hawks overcame Pace Cougars 2-1 before holding Oakwood Cobras to a goal-less draw. Warsash Wasps Blue and Wyvern also shared a point but no goals in their encounter.
