Ice Sports report

Hythe Jets 1 - 2 Ice Sports
Ice started quickly and put Hythe under pressure, but Hythe being the top team in the division began to battle back. Hythe were playing without the dangerous Harry Swainston who sadly got injured we hope he recovers soon. A superb passing movement from Ice with the excellent Liam Hodder threading a ball through to Macauley Oliver to beat one, and score a goal from a very acute angle.

Hedge End Tiger Cubs 0 - 4 Hythe Jets
Man-of-the-match for this game for Tigers was Daniel Coates and his composure and class mean't that Jets found this more hard than the result may show. Jets found the net three times in the first half with superb strikes from distance, their skill in passing through midfield at times breathtaking and clinical finishing meant even Tigers quality between the sticks in Kieran Dilworth was not enough today. Bradley Russell went close for Tigers and Sam Thornton also had a good chance but later was called up to the defence for Tigers and Jets piled on the pressure. Jets gave away a penalty and a superb strike from Jason Moulder was met by a superb save from the keeper ! But not to be down an out , Jason went on to create options for Tigers in midfield in the second half and Adam Jones was tight to his markers again to prevent the constant threat of a Jets counter attack.Jets did find the Net in the second half and this lone goal in this half was a testament to Tigers staying power against the best side in the league by far. Jordan Fowler again showing his ability against the best and unlucky not to bag a goal. But Jets were too much for the Tigers. They set the standard in Yellow League.

Hedge End Tiger Cubs 0 - 1 Ice Sports
The tigers keeper Kieran Dilworth was put to the test from the off , ICE clearly wanted to boss this game and defender Adam Jones was tasked to close them out for the first 10 minutes and was precise in his marking and ball chasing. ICE play flowing football and at times a dazzled Tigers looked like they were going to find this game hard going. A superb midfield performance by Daniel Coates though started to give Tigers the lions share of the play for a while so it was cruel for a slip up in the box to gift ICE their goal. Trickery from Jason Moulder in Midfield and Jordan Fowler with his superb runs mean't that Tigers kept pressing and were unlucky not to equalise. ICE tried to close out the result late on but Tigers man-of-the match for this game Nicolas Feest gave a master class in tackling and prevented more goals. Tigers had a chance late on with a free kick 15 yards out but ICE defended well. A classic game really , it had everthing , excitement in bucket loads , skill , effort and great sportsmanship. Another exhibition of great Yellow league football. Well Done ICE but Tigers count themselves unlucky.

Hedge End Tiger Cubs 0 - 7 Fawley Falcons
A bad day to play one of the best sides in the league in a double header. Stung by their draw in the first game , Fawley came out all guns blazing and soon overwhelmed a tired Tigers defence.

Fawley Falcons 1 - 1 Hedge End Tiger Cubs
Tigers started this game with a simple goal , to play attacking football but to close the door when they lost the ball. Tigers Jordan Fowler , Ben Semple , Daniel Coates and Adam Jones rotated in pairs for the game making sure Tigers formation held tight. Fawley bossed most of the 1st half with a shot hitting the frame and a couple of good chances kept out by the yet again outstanding Kieran Dilworth in goal. Tigers had one good chance but the Fawley defence was rock solid and their ability to attack on the counter a constant threat , Tigers defender Nicolas Feest had to play his best football this season.

Testwood Lancers 1 - 1 Hedge End Tiger Cubs
The Tigers were told "keep it tight for the first 10" , you need to against the Lancers. One of the most skillful sides in the league set about threatening the Tigers Goal from the first minute and only sharp goalkeeping by Kieran Dilworth kept the Lancers out. But against the run of play , Tigers striker Bradley Russell steamed through from midfield , beat a defender twice his size and with only the keeper to beat , shot inches wide ! This shook the Lancers back into action and again Ben Semple and Jordan Fowler kept enough of the ball for the Tigers to limit the Lancers to only two good chances , both expertly saved again by Kieran Dilworth in the Tigers Goal. The second half started with the Tigers having to defend sharply and Lancers passing led to four great chances in front of goal , after three superb saves from the Tigers keeper , finally the Lancers got through with stylish finish close in. Instead of heads going down , the Tigers kept their passing game together and this pressure led to Sam Thornton finding space and calmly slotting home from the right after Tigers pressure. The Lancers only had time for one last push but the door was shut by Daniel Coates and Nicolas Feest who were solid for the last 10 ,,, A great game but in truth , the Tigers Goal Keeper Kieran Dilworth was the difference today between 1 point or no points for the Tigers , superb goalkeeping.

Warsash Wasps Blue 1 - 1 Hedge End Tiger Cubs
Early kick offs and once again Slumbering Tigers were still sucking their pillows as The wasps set about passing to perfection and threatening the goal several times early on. Tigers Jordan Fowler and Ben Semple were the only reason Wasps did not lead early on by the ground they covered in the 1st half. The Wasps were the better side at half time , but 0-0 enabled the Tigers to re-group. The second half was better for the Tigers and Jason Moulder capitalised on the edge of the box to cooly lob home in style. Wasps then upped their game and made Statuesque Tigers look vuneable but Adam Jones and Daniel Coates showed that Tigers still build their game on sold defence and Wasp were closed out. In the final minutes , just after Ben Semple and Sam Thornoton combined to almost get a second , Wasps burst through the midfield and although Nicolas Feest got the player before he shot , the tackle led to a free kick that Wasps executed with breathtaking accuracy to equalise in the final seconds of the game. A great game , Tigers and Wasps both show the tackling game to a high level but a draw a fair result on the day.

Hedge End Tiger Cubs 3 - 2 Warsash Wasps Blue
This game could have gone either way , Tigers played a more canny game with Sam Thornton and Daniel Coates keeping calm to thwart early Wasps pressure. Tigers were soon fired ahead by a superb strike from Jason Moulder and then it looked like the Tigers would overwhelm the Wasps but Wasps had other ideas , they started to pass the ball better and take control of the game and it took calm defending by Adam Jones and Nicolas Feest to keep the wasps out. A clinical strike close in from Jordan Fowler and a superb Wasps finish meant there was still everything to play for in the last ten minutes of the game. Wasps pressure finally paid off and the score was 2-2 with 5 minutes to go , Then an all out assault by the Tigers saw Ben Semple and Jason Moulder link up to provide Kieran Dilworth with an opening , he took on a player and slotted home depsite a brave effort from the keeper. A great game but I think both teams have more to offer and play again next week !.

Hedge End Tiger Cubs 2 - 4 Testwood Lancers
The christmas break did the Tigers no favours as a sluggish and sleepy team were outclassed in the 1st half by a stylish lancers team who looked to pass at every opportunity and were quicker to the ball. Their hunger for goals quickly paid dividends and Tigers soon found themselves 3 goals down , all the products of lancer trickery and goal awareness. Finally Tigers were fired into action by a stunning run by defender Nicolas Feest from his own half , running through the lancers and beating a superb diving effort at his feet by the keeper to poke home a great finish. Jordan Fowler proved his worth again as a midfield terrier and along with Ben Semple , they gave the Tigers a chance by bossing the goal area and leading to an own goal by lancers which led to an exiting last 5 minutes. It was not to be for Tigers as Lancers killed off the game with a calm fourth and they edged a well deserved victory , their skill on the ball was a different class today. Well done Lancers.

Hedge End Tiger Cubs 1 - 1 Oakwood Cobras
After these teams last met , Cobras served up a 9 goal master class in passing and attacking play and the Tigers started this game knowing that defending had to be the key. Adam Jones , Nicolas Feest and Daniel Coates were defenders who had to do a job to give Tigers any chance in this game and they did a superb job. It was ironic that superb goal keeping technique from a frozen Kieran Dilworth and one unlucky bounce gave Cobras a chance out of no-where and they dont need a second chance , a cool calm lob was all that was needed and Cobras took the lead. Instead of packing the defence , Tigers then produced the best passing football of their season so far with Sam Thornton swapping goal scoring for clinical passing and Daniel Coates Linking up with Jason Moulder to really get the Tigers Sideline cheering ! Eventually this was rewarded by a calm-as-you-like finish from Ben Semple. Both teams had chances late on and both teams produced football above their years but solid goalkeeping kept the final result to 1-1 . This was a case of Tigers raising their game to meet the opposition and they did so in style. A fanstastic advert for mini-soccer !
