THE Tom Jordan saga looks set to run for at least another week.
Eastleigh have been back to Havant & Waterlooville with a FOURTH bid for the towering central defender, but it seems certain that nothing will be settled until after the Hawks' monumental FA Cup fourth round trip to Liverpool this Saturday.
"I spoke to Derek Pope (Havant's director of football) last Thursday and I'm waiting for him to come back to me, but I wouldn't think anything will happen yet because of the FA Cup game," confirmed Eastleigh boss Ian Baird yesterday.
Havant manager Shaun Gale has left negotiations to Pope but said: "From what I'm told Eastleigh still haven't offered the full asking price.
"They've offered us £15,000 for Tom, but we've also asked for money after so many appearances.
"It's up to Derek now to go back to them, but nothing will happen prior to the Liverpool game which Tom has a very good chance of going to."

Incredibly, Jordan - son of ex-Saint Joe - is so keen to join Eastleigh that he is prepared to miss a dream trip to Anfield to get his wish of a move to the Silverlake Stadium.
"I find that amazing," said Gale. "But Tom's entitled to his opinion."

I think that i'm starting to lose what exactly is going now, is this the same team that said it has ended all interest in this player at least once before? The mind boggles that they think this is a way to run a football club

It's Dave Malone. He just HAS to be in the paper at least once a week to get his monies-worth. Dave has taken charge. Dave will also take em down. This guy should'nt be allowed to be involved in any kind of football. It's a real shame because on the face of it Eastleigh fans are good to drink with and be around, but their management is appauling. Give the club to the fans and spend your tax-dodge money elsewhere.

Mark, isn't it more unsettling that your former captain has openly stated that he wants to play for Eastleigh - surely that is very unsettling. More unsettling than another club making an approach and bid for one of your players which after all is part and parcel of football.
Wouldn't it have made more sense to sell Jordan 2 months ago and saved a few K in wages and not had someone about the club who wants to be somewhere else?
Oh no cos its big bad Eastleigh FC who took Ian Baid off us and we're still all bitter and twisted about that so we'll put "revenge" against Beastleigh them above common sense and our own interests.
Maybe if a couple of Havant directors just grew up a bit then the situation would have been sorted ages ago in all parties interests.
Talk about cutting off you nose to spite your face.

Sad that this player has no ambition,I would put H&W CHANCES OF PROMOTION HIGHER THAN E and as for being prepared to forego playing at Anfield, well I guess that say's it all.

what i STILL dont get is why he wants to come down the road instead of staying at a club that has
1. got better quality players
2. had a fantastic cup run that included three sweet victories over teams that were in the football league and finally
3.have had and always will have better chances of promotion to the conference national.
we are the pride of hampshire....
C'MON YOU HAWKS!

yeah ok....did lose my grip a bit but still its not often that a non-league side makes the last 32 of the FA cup and was close to absolutely humilliating rafas army. i honestly doubt eastleigh would get that far.
