HAMPSHIRE FA will meet today to decide where four Tyro League clubs will play their football next season.
The futures of the quartet will be discussed at a hearing after the county FA made a change to one of their rules about youth football and mini-soccer clubs playing in leagues outside of the area they are based in.
Previously leagues had an element of freedom to work with one another and decide whether a club should be allowed to transfer to a competition in a neighbouring area.
But now Hampshire FA will take on the responsibility for making that decision and four clubs – Winchester Youth, Alresford Town, Littleton and SportStars FC – will have their cases heard today. During their applications it is understood the clubs – two of which have played in the Tyro League for over 30 years – will have to meet certain criteria to retain their places in the Southampton-based competition.
