PORTSMOUTH FC have finally had their transfer embargo lifted by the Premier League.
The club were slapped with the ban more than 100 days ago for failing to keep up with repayments to football clubs in England and abroad.
The ban was today lifted after the Premier League received confirmation from Udinese that they were happy with the new payment schedule.
This now means Portsmouth can buy and loan players in their bid to stay in English football's top flight.
Earlier this month, more than £7m of TV money was diverted by the league from Pompey to other clubs to help settle the outstanding debts.
Saints FA up opponents are still subject to a winding-up order, which will be heard in the High Court on February 10, ahead of the derby game.
