AFC TOTTON will welcome another of their former wingers back to the Testwood Stadium this evening.

Having brought crowd favourite Mike Gosney back into the fold on loan from Gosport Borough, the Stags will tonight open their doors to 27-year-old ex-Saint Josh Dutton-Black of Southern One South & West rivals Didcot Town.

The Oxfordshire-born midfielder, a contemporary of Theo Walcott at St Mary’s, originally signed for Didcot from Totton in January 2009 and, following a spell away at North Leigh, rejoined the Railwaymen in July last year.

He played – and scored – for Diddy in a 3-1 win over Sholing on Saturday – the Oxfordshire outfit’s first win in four league games.

But Didcot haven’t been losing either and the Sholing triumph extended their unbeaten league run to an impressive 17 games, moving them up to third in the table.

Twelfth-placed Totton were left idle on Saturday as heavy overnight rain put paid to their league trip to Stratford Town.

They will tonight be hoping for more of the same from returning hero Gosney, who turned in a virtuoso performance to inspire a 4-2 home win over Fleet Town on New Year’s Day.

Injury-hit Sholing take a break from league action tonight to visit Tom Killick’s Southern Premier high fliers Poole Town in the Red Insure Cup third round while, weather-permitting, Winchester City head to US Portsmouth for a delayed Sydenhams Wessex League Cup third round tie.

Petersfield Town, meanwhile, can replace Moneyfields at the Sydenhams Premier summit, by beating Alresford Town in tonight’s league showdown at Arlebury Park.
