AFC TOTTON fought back from 2-0 down to force a 2-2 draw in tonight’s historic friendly with the new Salisbury FC.

A crowd of 729 descended on the Raymond McHill Stadium as football returned to Old Sarum for the first time since the old Salisbury City’s demise.

Steve Claridge’s team of Salisbury trialists led 1-0 at the break and doubled their advantage in the second half.

But Totton hit back with two late goals from Stuart Mott (74 mins) and Craig Feeney (86 mins).

Salisbury are due to play another friendly at the Ray Mac on Friday, but their opposition has changed.

Cardiff City’s under-21s have pulled out of the fixture, so Claridge has turned to his former club Gosport Borough to step in.

Alex Pike’s Gosport narrowly missed out on the Vanarama Conference South play-offs and will provide a strong test for the Whites’ fledgling squad.

Friday’s game kicks off at 7.30pm and fans can pay what they want to get in.
