CROWD favourite Mike Gosney has returned to his spiritual home at AFC Totton.

The talented wideman has agreed terms with the Stags for next season’s Southern One South & West campaign after a spell back on loan last term.

One of the gifted players ever to have graced Totton blue, Gosney was an integral part of the squad that climbed from the Wessex League to the Southern Premier Division, taking in the 2007 FA Vase final at Wembley along the way.

Having joined the Stags at the age of 16, he left nine years later to join Gosport Borough in the summer of 2013 having scored more than 150 goals in 300 Totton appearances.

But he never quite emulated that form at Privett Park and, following a temporary spell with Poole Town, Gosney returned to Totton on loan for the second half of last season.

Hailing the capture of the wing wizard, Totton boss Steve Hollick said: “This is great news for the club and the supporters.

"It shows real intent by the club to bring in such a talented player as Gos. I know this news will genuinely excite our supporters.”
