AFC Totton were out of first-team action last Saturday, so their reserves took centre-stage.
And how they relished the spotlight!
Fielding a mixed side, they defeated Ringwood Town 10-0 in the Wyvern Combination League’s John Stimpson Memorial Shield.
Two teenagers – Matt Brewer, 16, and Jake Rawkins, 17 – grabbed a hat-trick apiece, there were two from first-team star Mike Gosney on his return from back problems and one apiece from Mark Lilley and Dave Allen.
Totton’s reserves are back in Wyvern Premier action at the Testwood Stadium tomorrow night (Thursday, 7.30pm) against US Portsmouth.
And there’s big date approaching for the under-18s who go to Bournemouth Poppies in the FA Youth Cup on September 24.
