AFC TOTTON proved too strong for rock-bottom Bashley in tonight’s New Forest derby, watched by a 288 Testwood Stadium crowd.
After leading 1-0 at half-time, the Stags ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against a point-less Bash side managed by their former boss Steve Riley.
Nathaniel Sherborne opened the scoring following a fine 24th-minute solo run and almost had another when his shot struck the outside of the post.
The long-serving forward then teed up Craig Feeney to make it 2-0 on 67 minutes before heading home his second of the night.
Then, with five minutes remaining, young sub Jake Rawkins delivered for Mike Gosney to head in number four.
After a slow start to the season, Steve Hollick’s Stags have won three of their last four in the Evo-Stik Southern One South & West.
Totton are up to 17th, while Bash are now seven points adrift at the bottom with a -46 goal difference after just ten games.
